Wednesday Magpie. #40

She had asked for pearls,
so when the blue velvet lined box came out,
her breath hitched in excitement.
Had he really remembered?

"You said jewelry, and you're always hinting for a life more exotic."
She stares at the pendant,
exotic indeed.

Ah well. Such is life.
And she can always restring the pearls.

haha...I think it's good we can't read peoples minds, especially when we give eachother presents; their real thoughts might be too hurtful!

short and funny magpie! :)

Oops! Guess her taste in jewelry is a little less exotic than mine! ;^)

(I fixed your link. No worries.)

I have had to restring pearls ... it isn't easy! Your Magpie was fun to read.

We have all been in this place at one point in time. When we do restring, the sad thing is they rarely notice.

Nice. I had my "she" re-stringing, too. Great minds, etc.!

Lovely magpie, she nearly got what she wanted.

We can't always get what we want, but we can use our imaginations, just as you have here. Really nice.

Never even hint to a man what it is you want. Draw a diagram of the store with an "X" marking exactly what it is you're hoping for...and pray for the best.

A little too exotic for me also... but love the pearls, even a little baroqueness to them.

But were the pearls really the most valuable part of the gift?

Yes I didn't much like the amulet. I made a bolo out of it.
